Russian Black Sea Fleet Conducts Military Exercises Near Sevastopol

On Monday, October 23, the Black Sea Fleet conducted military exercises with the use of rocket bombs near Sevastopol. Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev announced this in his Telegram channel.

According to him, the exercises are expected to last until approximately 8:15. The drills were organized in the area of the Northern and Southern piers. The situation in Sevastopol itself is calm, explained the city’s mayor.

The previous exercises of the Black Sea Fleet took place on October 21.

On September 22, Razvozhaev reported on the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol. He urged local residents not to approach the fragments of shells and not to publish photos and videos from the scene of the incident and the work of air defense.

Due to the threat of a repeated attack, citizens were asked not to leave buildings and to seek shelter when the siren sounds. Half an hour later, Razvozhaev announced the end of the air alarm.

As a result of the attack, the historical building of the Black Sea Fleet headquarters was damaged. One serviceman went missing.

Later, Sky News reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces might have used long-range Storm Shadow missiles to attack the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet. The channel cited a source in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Earlier, Oleg Kryuchkov, an advisor to the head of Crimea on information policy, announced the planned destruction of explosive objects on the peninsula.
