Russian Air Force Strikes Terrorist Targets in Syria’s Idlib Province

Deputy Head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, has announced that the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) have carried out three airstrikes on terrorist targets in Syria’s Idlib province, according to RIA Novosti.

Kulit stated that the strikes were conducted “to prevent further armed provocations by terrorists.” He further added that the attacks resulted in the destruction of an ammunition depot, a training camp, and a terrorist stronghold.

Earlier reports revealed that the VKS had targeted and destroyed five weapons depots in Syria.

Prior to this, it was reported that the VKS had eliminated up to 25 militants associated with the terrorist organization “Jabhat al-Nusra” (a group banned in Russia) in the town of Batenta, located 9 kilometers northwest of the city of Idlib. This group of militants was responsible for attacks on Syrian government forces and civilian infrastructure.

Earlier, Turkey announced when its troops would be withdrawn from Syria.
