Drones’ Effectiveness in Ukrainian Conflict Prompts Development of Countermeasures

The military-industrial complex companies have reported that the experience of special military operations (SMO) has demonstrated the effectiveness of drones in combat and the lack of means to counter them. This was reported by Nesweek.

Arun Arumugam, the sales director of the Polish company Advanced Protection Systems (APS), stated that amidst the Ukrainian conflict, the need for the development of efficient means to detect and destroy drones has become evident. This is because the damage caused by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is too high, and relying on firearms to shoot them down is not feasible.

“People now understand how easy and cheap it is to acquire a drone and turn it into a threat,” he said, noting that SMO has led to a significant increase in the company’s revenue.

Furthermore, British drone expert Steve Wright expressed the opinion that the lack of budgetary resources to combat drones helps Ukraine force Russia to expend expensive air defense missiles on inexpensive UAVs. According to him, this is the main objective of drone attacks on Moscow.

Previously, Russian UAV chips were found in Ukrainian homemade drones.

Earlier, Russia developed a new drone suppression system.
