Israel Evacuates 14 Border Towns Amid Escalating Tensions with Lebanon

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that Israel is evacuating 14 settlements along the border with Lebanon. This information was shared on the IDF’s Telegram channel.

The evacuation is planned to take place in the settlements of Snir, Dan, Beit Gilel, Shear Yashuv, Ha-Goshrim, Liman, Matzuva, Eilon, Goren, Gornot Ha-Galil, Even Menahem, Sasa, Tziv’on, and Ramot Naftali.

Clashes along the Lebanon-Israel border have been occurring daily. The area is home to Hezbollah, a militarily armed group funded by Iran.

Previously, Hamas claimed responsibility for launching rockets from southern Lebanon into Israel.

On October 7, Hamas launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, initiating the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. Thousands of militants infiltrated Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu declared the country to be in a state of war.

The IDF’s counter-operation has been named “Iron Swords,” with one of its objectives being the destruction of Hamas. The Israeli Air Force has conducted strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, while the Israeli National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the sector. On October 13, Israel notified the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must be evacuated to the southern Gaza within 24 hours in preparation for a ground operation in the area.

This news is still developing.
