Israeli Air Strike on Cafe in Gaza City Leaves 10 Dead and Dozens Injured

At least 10 people have been killed and dozens injured as a result of an Israeli airstrike on a cafe in the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, according to WAFA.

“The Rio cafe in the center of Khan Yunis was bombed by the occupying air force, resulting in the deaths of ten civilians and dozens of injuries,” the publication stated.

Prior to this, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had announced that since the start of the conflict with Hamas, approximately 550 unsuccessful rocket launches had been detected, which had fallen within the territory of the Gaza Strip.

On October 7, the forces of the Hamas movement launched several thousand rockets into Israeli territory and declared the start of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. Thousands of militants invaded Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country was in a state of war.

The IDF’s counter-operation was named “Iron Swords,” with one of its goals being the destruction of Hamas. The Israeli Air Force conducted strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, while the Israeli National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the sector. On October 13, Israel informed the UN that 1.1 million Palestinians must be evacuated to the southern Gaza Strip within 24 hours in anticipation of a ground operation in Gaza.

Earlier, “Gazeta.Ru” provided answers to key questions about the Israel-Palestine conflict.
