The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that since the conflict with Hamas began, approximately 550 failed rocket launches have been identified, resulting in the rockets falling within the Gaza Strip. This information was shared in a statement released by the IDF through their Telegram channel.
The IDF claims that Hamas is using the residents of the Gaza Strip as human shields and launching rockets from civilian infrastructure.
“Since the start of the war, the Israeli Defense Forces have identified approximately 550 failed launches carried out by Hamas, which landed within the Gaza Strip,” the statement reads.
Prior to this, it was revealed that the IDF intends to increase the number of strikes carried out on the Gaza Strip. As a result, the country’s government is once again urging local residents to evacuate to safe areas.
On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, declaring the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. Thousands of militants infiltrated Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country was in a state of war.
The Israeli Defense Forces’ retaliatory operation has been named “Operation Iron Swords,” with one of its objectives being the destruction of Hamas. The Israeli Air Force has carried out strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, and the Israeli National Security Council has decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the sector. On October 13th, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the south of Gaza within 24 hours in anticipation of a ground operation.
