Israel lacks sufficient evidence of Iran’s involvement in Hamas attacks

The Israeli government does not have enough information to confirm Iran’s involvement in the recent attacks by the Palestinian movement Hamas. This was stated by the spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Avichay Adra, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“We do not have sufficient information to speak about Iran’s participation in this process, but we have enough information to say that Iran supports the Hamas movement,” clarified the spokesperson.

According to Adra, Tehran currently finances a significant portion of the Palestinian movement’s activities. Furthermore, he stated that Iran supplies Hamas with weapons and provides training to its members.

Adra also highlighted the historically close relationship between Iran and the Palestinian movement. In light of this, he implied that Israel has no doubt about Hamas fighters using Iranian-made weapons.

“But whether the operation was conducted, the timing of its implementation, and how it was carried out under Iran’s guidance? We do not have enough information to confirm this,” concluded the spokesperson.

On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, declaring the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flooding” operation. On the same day, militants infiltrated border areas in southern Israel, seizing equipment and hundreds of hostages.

In response, the Israel Defense Forces initiated their own operation, named “Iron Swords.” Since then, Israeli soldiers have targeted hundreds of Palestinian movement facilities located in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, likened the conflict in the Middle East to a powder keg.
