Israel’s Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson, Avichai Adari, revealed to RIA Novosti that Israel has implemented a complete blockade on the Gaza Strip and is ready to initiate a ground operation.
According to Adari, Israel is prepared to enter the next phase of the war, which involves a ground maneuver.
Adari added that there is no fixed timeline for the operation, and it will continue until the goals of dismantling Hamas’ military-political system and eliminating its commanders and responsible individuals for the October 7 attack are achieved.
“At present, the armed forces are instructed to enforce a complete blockade on the Gaza Strip, and this measure is being implemented on the ground,” Adari stated, clarifying that nothing, including water, electricity, and medicine, is being allowed into the Palestinian enclave from Israeli territory.
He noted that the issue of delivering humanitarian aid to the Palestinian enclave is being addressed at the political level in Israel and by relevant states involved in the matter. Directives will change if there is agreement reached at the political level with regional and international parties.
Previously, it was reported that the IDF continues to prepare for further steps within the military operation conducted in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, Israel’s ultranationalist Minister of Public Security, Ben-Gvir, stated that until the release of civilian hostages in Gaza, only “hundreds of tons of explosives” should be sent, with “not a gram of humanitarian aid.”
