In a recent development, Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, has issued a warning to the Lebanese Shiite organization, Hezbollah, stating that they have made the decision to engage in conflict against the Israeli state. As a result, Hezbollah will have to pay a heavy price for their rocket and artillery strikes on military targets and troops in the northern region of the country. The Times of Israel reported Gallant’s remarks.
“Hezbollah has chosen to participate in the hostilities, and we demand a high price from them,” Gallant addressed the 91st territorial division at the Biranit camp on the Lebanon border.
The Minister disclosed that since October 7, approximately 13 Hezbollah members have been eliminated as a result of Israel’s retaliatory strikes in southern Lebanon.
On October 20, Israeli authorities announced the activation of an evacuation plan for the residents of Kiryat Shmona, a city on the border with Lebanon.
In the early morning hours of October 21, the Israeli Defense Forces carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon in response to rocket attacks.
