Hamas, the Palestinian movement, has announced the release of two American citizens on “humanitarian grounds.” This news was reported in a Telegram channel affiliated with the organization.
“In response to the efforts of Qatar, the Al-Qassam Brigades have released two American citizens (a mother and her daughter) for humanitarian reasons and to prove to the American people and the world that the claims made by President Joe Biden and his fascist administration are false and unfounded,” the statement said.
Prior to this, the Russian Ambassador to Israel, Anatoly Viktorov, told the newspaper “Izvestia” that two Russians are still being held hostage by Hamas.
Abu Ubaida, a representative of the military wing of Hamas, the Al-Qassam Brigades, stated that the group will release the foreign hostages captured in southern Israel when circumstances allow.
On October 16, Ubaida claimed that the radicals are holding between 200 to 250 hostages. According to him, “200 Israeli prisoners are directly held by the Al-Qassam Brigades, while the others are held by different groups.”
