The military wing of the Hamas brigade, known as Al-Qassam, has taken responsibility for launching rockets from southern Lebanon towards western Galilee in Israel. This announcement was made by the Al-Qassam faction based in Lebanon, as reported by RIA Novosti.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) retaliated by opening fire after detecting around 20 rocket launches from Lebanese territory. The IDF statement mentioned that air raid sirens were activated in the northern part of the country. Following this, military personnel discovered that approximately 20 projectiles were fired from Lebanon towards Israel.
On the day of October 19th, the IDF reported that Israel’s border areas were targeted with shelling from Lebanese territory. According to the IDF, several anti-tank rockets were launched towards the Kibbutz Manara.
Earlier, the Israeli authorities approved the evacuation of residents from communities near the border with Lebanon.
