In a surprising move, Josh Pol, an official at the US State Department, has resigned due to President Joe Biden’s decision to provide military assistance to Israel. The New York Post reported this development, citing the diplomat’s social media account.
Pol made the decision to step down amidst the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He had promised himself that he would remain in his position until the harm he caused could be outweighed by the good he could do.
“I am leaving because I believe that with our current policy of supplying lethal weapons to Israel, I have reached the limits of this agreement,” explained Pol.
It is worth noting that the official had worked for over 10 years in the bureau overseeing arms sales in military-political matters.
Prior to this, American journalist Seymour Hersh, citing sources, claimed that Israeli forces were planning to inflict destruction on the Gaza Strip similar to the devastation caused by the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in Japan.
Earlier, Netanyahu stated that Israel was transitioning to a massive attack “like never before.”
