Germany Allocates Additional Funds for Military Needs, Signals Changing Times

The Budget Committee of the German Bundestag has given a positive recommendation for the allocation of an additional 4.4 billion euros for military needs. According to the country’s Ministry of Defense, the news was reported by the DPA news agency.

Based on information obtained by the agency, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius referred to the allocation of these funds for procurement and development projects for the armed forces as a “clear sign of a changing era.”

Previously, it was reported that Germany and Israel had reached an agreement for the purchase of German-made Arrow 3 missile defense systems. The deal is estimated to be worth approximately 4 billion euros.

In April, the Israeli Ministry of Defense’s press office stated that the defense agencies of Germany and Israel had begun discussions on an agreement for the supply of Arrow 3 military systems to Germany.

On August 17, The Times of Israel reported that the United States had approved Israel’s request to export the jointly developed missile defense system to Germany. This deal will become the largest defense agreement in Israel’s history.

Earlier, the Netherlands and Denmark confirmed that the United States had approved the shipment of F-16 fighters to Ukraine.
