In a recent development, the Ministry of Defense of Russia has reported that on Wednesday, October 18, at approximately 17:40 MSK, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) made an attempt to carry out a terrorist attack on the territory of Crimea using modified anti-aircraft missiles from the S-200 air defense system.
According to the Russian military, the air defense systems successfully intercepted two missiles in mid-air. The fragments of the missiles fell in an uninhabited area and subsequently detonated upon impact with the ground. Fortunately, there have been no casualties or damage reported.
On the same day, the Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, announced that the Russian Black Sea Fleet was successfully repelling an attack on aerial targets in the area of Suharnaya Balka.
It has also been revealed that the Russian Black Sea Fleet destroyed an unmanned vessel belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the waters near Crimea.
Prior to this incident, Ukraine had previously attempted to attack the Crimean Bridge using modified S-200 missiles.
Earlier, a UAF soldier expressed confusion regarding the reasons behind the conflict in Ukraine.
