In a recent development, the Russian Ministry of Defense has reported that the Russian military group “Zapad” successfully repelled 13 attacks by Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) assault groups in the Kupyansk region. These attacks were effectively countered with the support of aviation and artillery fire.
According to the ministry, the assaults were carried out by the 14th, 32nd, 43rd, and 115th mechanized brigades of the UAF in the areas of Sinkyivka, Ivanivka, Pershotravneve, Orlanske in the Kharkiv region, and Serhiivka in the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR). Additionally, the army aviation and heavy flamethrower systems inflicted damage on personnel and equipment of the 68th Jaeger Brigade of the UAF and the 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade of Ukraine in the Nadia region of the LPR and Berestove in the Kharkiv region.
The Ministry of Defense stated that the enemy suffered significant losses, including up to 80 servicemen, three tanks, an American M113 armored personnel carrier, three combat armored vehicles, two pickups, and a self-propelled artillery installation called “Akatsiya.”
Last week, retired Lieutenant Colonel and military expert of the LPR People’s Militia, Andriy Marochko, highlighted the unsuccessful attempts by the UAF to carry out assault operations in the Kupyansk region.
Former CIA employee Larry Johnson previously reported that Russian forces had encircled UAF units in the vicinity of Kupyansk.
Earlier, a UAF soldier expressed confusion about the reasons behind the conflict in Ukraine.
