The United States has reportedly sent its long-range ATACMS missiles equipped with cluster munitions to Ukraine, according to The New York Times. The article states that Washington has provided Kiev with a small batch of these missiles.
The ATACMS missiles, which have been sent to Ukraine in limited quantities, are said to be equipped with cluster munitions, according to officials. This development comes after reports of the discovery of M74 cluster munitions from American ATACMS ballistic missiles in Berdyansk, Zaporizhia region, following overnight strikes by the Ukrainian army, as claimed by Vladimir Rogov, the head of the Zaporizhia movement “We are together with Russia” on October 17.
On the same day, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources familiar with the situation, that a small number of American ATACMS missiles had been secretly delivered to Ukraine in recent days.
Earlier, Ukrainian MP Alexey Goncharenko suggested that American ATACMS missiles may have already been incorporated into the arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and used in strikes in the Zaporizhia region.
Prior to this, the US acknowledged the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
