US Marines Positioned Near Gaza and Israel for Potential Involvement in Conflict

The Chairman of the US House of Representatives’ Foreign Affairs Committee, Michael McCaul, has confirmed the presence of US Marines off the coast of Gaza and Israel. This information was reported by CNN.

McCaul has indicated that the Marines could be deployed to participate in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He stated, “The Marine Expeditionary Force […] will become a driving force in the event of a landing, if their boots are on the ground to engage in war.”

According to McCaul, there are currently two thousand Marines near the coasts of Gaza and Israel, sent there by US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

On October 14, it was revealed why the US had sent planes to the Middle East. Prior to this, the US had dispatched the aircraft carrier “Gerald Ford” along with a strike group of ships to the borders of Israel.

On October 11, John Kirby, the Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council, also announced that a second aircraft carrier, the “Dwight D. Eisenhower,” would be sent to the same region.

Earlier, the US had assessed the possibility of involving third parties in the Israel-Palestine conflict.
