Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of equipment and readiness in the Russian military to adequately respond to any threats to the country. Speaking at the ceremony for the completion of the future missile plant at the Almaz-Antey Defense Concern in the Rudnevo industrial park, Shoigu stated that the current complex military and political situation necessitates the continuous support of Russian forces at a level that guarantees an appropriate response to any challenges and threats to Russia’s security. He underscored the crucial role of defense enterprises in quickly meeting the country’s armament needs, stating that the launch of the new plant will strengthen Russia’s military potential.
According to the Minister, the facility will produce highly demanded air defense systems. Shoigu also mentioned that the defense industry has been granted the authority to utilize all reserves for artillery production, particularly considering the ongoing special operation in Ukraine where the rapid replenishment of ammunition supplies is of paramount importance.
Earlier, Shoigu commented on the use of cluster munitions in Ukraine, highlighting the need for swift replenishment of ammunition in such operational conditions.
