Turkey Offers to Serve as Guarantor for Peace Agreement Between Palestine and Israel

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, has stated that Ankara is prepared to become a guarantor country for Palestine in the event of reaching a peaceful agreement to resolve the conflict between Palestine and Israel, according to RIA Novosti.

According to Fidan, countries acting as guarantors, especially for Palestine, should be from the Middle East region.

“After reaching an agreement, the guarantor countries must take responsibility for its implementation,” the publication states.

Previously, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, stated that the conflict between Israel and Palestine could come to an end if two separate states are established.

On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory and declared the beginning of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. Thousands of militants invaded Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country was in a state of war.

The Israeli Defense Forces’ counter-operation was named “Operation Iron Swords,” with the goal of destroying Hamas. The Israeli Air Force carried out strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier, the IDF announced that military forces were preparing for the next stages of the war against the radical Palestinian movement, Hamas.
