Terrorist groups operating in the Idlib de-escalation zone are reportedly preparing to launch attacks on the civilian population, as well as on the locations of Russian and Syrian troops and civilian infrastructure. This alarming information was revealed by Vice Admiral Vadim Kulit, Deputy Chief of the Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Sides in Syria, as reported by TASS.
According to Kulit, these terrorist groups are planning to utilize drones and modified rocket artillery systems to carry out their attacks. However, he assured that the Russian military and the leadership of the Syrian army are taking necessary preemptive measures to counter these threats.
Just recently, the Deputy Head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Sides in the Syrian Arab Republic announced that the Russian Aerospace Forces had successfully destroyed five weapons depots. This action demonstrates the commitment of Russia to maintain peace and stability in the region.
It is worth noting that Kulit previously warned about an impending provocation against Russian forces in the Idlib de-escalation zone involving the use of chemical weapons. He revealed that containers of chlorine had been delivered to the vicinity of the settlement of Erich, with the intention of staging its use by representatives of the “White Helmets” in coordination with the terrorist group “Jabhat al-Nusra” (an organization banned in Russia).
In a separate incident, a drone belonging to the pro-American coalition dangerously approached a Russian aircraft in Syria, raising concerns about potential clashes between different military forces operating in the region.
