Hamas Offers Prisoner Exchange for Palestinian Detainees Held by Israel

In a recent statement, a representative of Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, expressed readiness to exchange hostages for the release of six thousand Palestinians currently imprisoned in Israel. The representative further noted that among the Palestinian captives are high-ranking officers of the Israel Defense Forces from the Gaza Division.

On October 16th, Abu Ubaida, spokesperson for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, claimed that the radicals are holding between 200 to 250 hostages.

Daniel Hagee, the official spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces, stated that the Israeli military is actively seeking information regarding the abductions occurring on both sides of the border with the Gaza Strip.

Furthermore, Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad recently discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin the possibilities of ending the conflict in the Gaza Strip during a phone call. Both leaders emphasized the urgent need for humanitarian aid to be delivered to the region.

This news is supplemented by previous coverage from Gazeta.Ru, which addressed key questions regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict.
