Israel Launches Operation Iron Swords in Response to Hamas Attacks

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that they are investigating new reports of a military outpost being targeted along the border with Lebanon. The IDF made this announcement through their official Telegram channel. It has been clarified that the incident involved the firing of an anti-tank missile.

Previously, Israel had stated that its military would take action in any part of the Middle East. “We are always vigilant, looking out across the entire Middle East. The IDF will act in any part of the region to ensure Israel’s security goals are achieved,” said a spokesperson.

On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, declaring the start of “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood”. Thousands of militants infiltrated Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu declared that the country was in a state of war.

The counter-operation by the Israel Defense Forces has been named “Operation Iron Swords”, with the destruction of Hamas being one of its objectives. The Israeli Air Force has carried out strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, while the Israeli National Security Council has decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the region. On October 13th, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the south of Gaza within 24 hours in preparation for a ground operation in the area.

Earlier, Netanyahu stated that Israel was transitioning to a massive attack unlike any seen before.
