In a recent military operation, Russian forces have targeted a Ukrainian army position on Pereslavsky Island, located in the Kherson region. The governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo, announced the results of the operation in his Telegram channel.
According to the regional leader, Russian intelligence discovered the location of one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) units on the mentioned island. Saldo emphasized that the island is situated directly across from the city of Nova Kakhovka. He added that the Ukrainian soldiers’ attempt to take control of the territory was unsuccessful. The Russian Armed Forces launched a powerful attack on the UAF units, resulting in the loss of up to 24 soldiers and four vehicles.
“Our warriors, including artillerymen, pilots, rocket soldiers, and mortar operators, are destroying the enemy’s manpower and military supplies faster than they can bring them in,” added the governor.
On October 15, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the disruption of the activities of two Ukrainian reconnaissance and sabotage groups (RSGs) in the Kherson direction. According to the ministry’s information, Ukrainian fighters were detected in the area near Aleshkinsky Island. Subsequently, the Russian military units struck the saboteurs, destroying two vehicles and up to 20 soldiers.
Earlier, Vladimir Saldo reported on the strike by Russian military personnel on an “elite” UAF unit in the Nikolaev region.
