Israeli Defense Forces Respond to Attacks from Lebanon Amidst Ongoing Conflict

In the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that they are responding to attacks originating from Lebanon. The IDF stated in their Telegram channel that they are striking the areas in Lebanon from which the town of Shetula was shelled. This comes after the IDF’s press office previously reported that they had used anti-aircraft defense systems to intercept a “suspicious target” that entered Israeli airspace from Lebanon.

On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, marking the beginning of their operation called “Flood of Al-Aqsa.” Thousands of militants infiltrated Israeli territory, seizing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu declared that the country is in a state of war.

The IDF’s counter-operation has been named “Iron Swords,” with the objective of destroying Hamas. The Israeli Air Force has conducted strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, while the Israeli National Security Council has decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the region. On October 13th, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the southern part of Gaza within 24 hours as a precautionary measure.

Earlier, Netanyahu stated that Israel is transitioning to a massive attack unlike any seen before.
