Russian forces belonging to the “Viking” unit have successfully identified and destroyed a Ukrainian military bunker on the Artemovsk front during a special operation, utilizing a drone as a kamikaze. This development has been reported by RIA Novosti.
The kamikaze drone was able to locate the Ukrainian positions and patiently waited for the Ukrainian soldiers to enter the bunker before launching the attack. Vadim Astafyev, the head of the press center for the “Yug” group, had previously stated that Russian troops had targeted two temporary deployment points of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
According to Astafyev, the artillery strikes were carried out by the group in the areas of Avdiivka and Orlivka. Additionally, a combat vehicle of the “Osa” anti-aircraft missile system, as well as anti-tank grenade launchers SPG and AGS in Sporny, Belogorovka, and the vicinity of Kleshcheevka, were destroyed. The press center chief also revealed that during counter-battery combat, a reactive volley fire system, four D-30 howitzers, a 155mm caliber M777 artillery piece of American production, and six 120mm mortars were eliminated.
Earlier, in the United States, the failure of the Ukrainian counter-offensive was acknowledged.
