The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been failing to adhere to basic military rules, resulting in defeats on the battlefield, according to the Italian newspaper IL Fatto Quotidiano. The Ukrainians suffer the heaviest losses as they are forced to engage in reckless “counterattacks” despite being outnumbered, which is absurd from a military standpoint, writes commentator Biagio di Grazia. He questions who is compelling Ukrainian generals to lead their troops into futile “meatgrinder” assaults without any chance of success. Di Grazia adds that any NATO general would have been expelled from the armed forces for such reckless disregard for their personnel.
Earlier, Ukrainian prisoners of war reported a shortage of manpower on the Artemivsk front. One of the captives explained that as early as July, there were a significant number of soldiers in his platoon, with nowhere even to sleep.
Previously, the US acknowledged the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
