Ukrainian Forces Face Shortage of Soldiers as Offensive Stalls

In the Artemivsk direction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there is a shortage of soldiers to carry out a counteroffensive, according to Ukrainian prisoners of war Arthur Boychuk and Alexander Herashchenko, in a conversation with RIA Novosti. “There are maybe 20 of us left out of a company of 60,” said Boychuk. He informed that back in July, there were a large number of soldiers in his company, to the point where they had nowhere to sleep. “But now it’s empty,” the fighter explained. His comrade, Alexander Herashchenko, who also surrendered, stated that the Ukrainian army is suffering heavy losses in the Artemivsk direction, but no new reinforcements are arriving. “We are simply in defense. We don’t have enough people,” he clarified. Previously, Ukrainian military serviceman Alexander Ben, who was captured, spoke about the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Zaporizhia region. According to him, Russian fighters managed to destroy over 60% of the 5th company of the 117th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine within a few days in Rabotino, in the territory of the Zaporizhia region. Earlier, the US acknowledged the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
