Netherlands to Provide Ukraine with Additional Missiles for Patriot Missile Systems

The Netherlands has announced its intention to supply Ukraine with additional projectiles meant for the Patriot missile systems. This was revealed by the Prime Minister of the kingdom, Mark Rutte, on his X platform account (formerly Twitter). Rutte stated that he visited the Ukrainian city of Odessa on October 13, upon the invitation of President Vladimir Zelensky.

“We will continue to support Ukraine for as long as it is necessary. This winter, Russia will try to inflict as much harm as possible on Ukraine,” wrote the Prime Minister. He further added that, in light of this, Amsterdam is ready to provide Kiev with additional missiles for the Patriot systems. Additionally, the Dutch government will assist the Ukrainian authorities in procuring patrol boats.

According to Rutte, this equipment is essential for ensuring the security of grain supply routes, particularly those passing through the port of Odessa. On October 11, the US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, announced that Bulgaria and Germany will supply Ukraine with new shipments of weapons. Sofia will provide components for the C-300 missile systems to the Ukrainian army, while Berlin will deploy two IRIS-T air defense systems and 10 Leopard tanks to the conflict zone.

Earlier, the US declared its plans to allocate a new aid package to Ukraine worth $200 million.
