Palestinian Health Minister Declares Humanitarian Catastrophe as Gaza Crisis Escalates

The situation in the Gaza Strip has reached a critical point, with the head of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, May Kyle, describing it as a humanitarian catastrophe. This comes as the Hamas movement launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory on October 7, initiating the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. Infiltrating Israeli territory, Hamas militants seized dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu declared the country to be in a state of war.

The Israeli Defense Forces’ retaliatory operation, named “Iron Swords,” aims to destroy Hamas. The Israeli Air Force has conducted strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, the Israeli National Security Council has decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the region. On October 13, Israel notified the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the southern part of Gaza within 24 hours in preparation for a ground operation.

Earlier, the Israeli police had predicted the duration of the conflict escalation. The situation remains tense as the world watches the ongoing crisis unfold. The international community is urged to provide immediate assistance to the Palestinian population affected by this escalating conflict.
