Israeli Army Reservists Face Shortage of Quality Equipment, Turn to Crowdfunding

Israeli Army reservists are raising concerns about the lack of quality ammunition and body armor. The Times of Israel reports that family members of reservists have revealed that such essential equipment was sold out in military stores within the first few days of the call-up. As a result, reservists are now taking matters into their own hands, searching for body armor and helmets with enhanced protection.

According to the publication, some reservists have even started crowdfunding campaigns to acquire the necessary gear. These purchases have to be made from other countries due to the shortage within Israel. To address this issue, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has launched a hotline where reservists can seek advice regarding missing items of gear and other concerns.

This shortage comes amidst calls from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to shift towards political actions for achieving peace. Previously, Israel had assessed the risks of escalating conflict with Hezbollah.
