In a recent development, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian movement Hamas, has announced that they are carrying out rocket attacks on the Yad-Mordechai kibbutz in southern Israel, according to reports from RIA Novosti. The statement claims that the Al-Qassam Brigades are targeting enemy clusters in Yad-Mordechai with a barrage of rockets.
On October 7th, the Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, marking the beginning of the “Al-Aqsa Flooding” operation. In response to this, Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Minister of National Security of Israel, declared a state of emergency in the country. Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, further declared that the country is in a state of war. The Israeli Defense Forces’ operation against Hamas has been named “Iron Swords.”
Prior to these events, during a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who visited Israel amid the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed his opinion that no country should engage with the Hamas movement, and those who do should face sanctions.
