Israeli Strikes Paralyze Airports in Syria, Syria Calls for Turkey’s Withdrawal

Israeli airstrikes have targeted the airports in Damascus and Aleppo in Syria, causing both airfields to suspend flight operations. This aggressive act by Israel has been reported by the Syrian newspaper Al-Watan. According to the publication, the attacks specifically targeted runways, effectively paralyzing the airports.

In early October, Syria urged Turkey to withdraw its troops from its territory. A de-escalation zone was established in northwest Syria in 2017, and a ceasefire has been in place since March 2020 as a result of agreements between Russia and Turkey. However, terrorist groups continue to violate the ceasefire regularly.

Bassam al-Sabbagh, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria, believes that the current composition of the UN Security Council does not reflect the contemporary political realities of the world. He emphasizes the importance of reforming the Security Council and involving developing countries in its work. Al-Sabbagh considers this matter extremely important, as it is often mentioned by world leaders.

Earlier, Syria accused the United States of opening new fronts against Russia within its territory.
