Explosions Cause Damage to Port Infrastructure in Odessa Region, Ukraine

The operational command “South” of the land forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) has reported damages to warehouse facilities in the port area of the Odessa region in its Telegram channel. According to Ukrainian military sources, the port infrastructure in the Podunavye area was affected. All resulting fires were promptly extinguished.

“The warehouse structures in the port area of the southern Odessa region have been damaged,” the message stated.

Prior to this, the head of the regional administration, Oleg Kiper, had reported that explosions occurred in the Odessa region overnight on October 6, causing damage to the port infrastructure. According to him, nine trucks caught fire as a result of the explosions. However, the fire was already successfully extinguished by morning.

Authorities and eyewitnesses had previously also reported explosions in the Izmail district in the southern Odessa region. The mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, mentioned hearing explosions in the city.

Earlier, President Zelensky revealed the challenges preventing Ukraine from shifting the hostilities to Russian territory.
