Russian forces have made significant advancements in their tactical position in the Southern Donetsk direction, as reported by Oleg Chekhov, the Chief of the Press Center for the Russian Armed Forces’ “Vostok” group. The fighters of the group have successfully strengthened their positions in the areas of Novomykhailivka and Chervone, resulting in significant losses for Ukrainian forces during the ongoing clashes.
Chekhov further disclosed that Russian military personnel have successfully seized control of a crucial strategic point, effectively outmaneuvering two reconnaissance groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces northwest of Shevchenko. Additionally, they have thwarted three attempts by Ukrainian units to rotate their forces in the areas of Novomykhailivka and Staromayorsk.
In a display of their superior firepower, Russian forces have also managed to destroy ammunition depots belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Urozhainoye and Staromayorsk. They have also targeted and neutralized various artillery assets, including the towed howitzer M777 in Katerinivka, the self-propelled howitzer “Msta-B” in Novodarovka, the self-propelled artillery unit “Gvozdika,” and the towed howitzer FH70 in Temirovka.
These recent achievements by Russian forces follow their successful operations in the towns of Ugledar and Vodyane, where they inflicted significant damage on both personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It is worth noting that the United States has recently identified this as one of the most significant threats faced by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
