Iraq warns of potential energy crisis in the Middle East amid Palestinian-Israeli conflict

During the “Russian Energy Week” forum, held to discuss the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Soudani issued a warning that the escalation of the crisis in the region could lead to a disruption in energy supplies. Soudani emphasized that the stability of the region would undoubtedly be affected by the expansion of the crisis and conflict. He further noted that the threat of potential disruptions in energy supplies looms large.

The Middle East, according to Soudani, is a sensitive region and of utmost importance as it provides resources to global energy markets. Previously, Soudani had stated that the conflict between Palestine and Israel was a natural consequence of Israel’s policies and the global community’s actions. In his view, the escalation in Palestine constitutes a dangerous development that infringes upon the rights of the Palestinians themselves.

Soudani underscored Iraq’s commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict between Palestine and Israel and expressed readiness to contribute to finding a solution. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had also called on all parties involved in the Israeli conflict to minimize harm to civilian populations.

The warning from Iraq comes at a time when tensions in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict have reached alarming levels, with escalating violence and loss of life. The potential disruption in energy supplies adds another layer of concern to the already dire situation. The international community must strive to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict and prevent further destabilization in the region.
