In a recent development, the fortified position and drone command center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) were targeted and hit by artillery fire from the Russian forces in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). The Chief of the Press Center of the Russian forces, Vadim Astafyev, confirmed this to TASS news agency.
According to Officer Astafyev, the artillery strikes successfully hit the Ukrainian units’ strongpoint located in Sporny and the drone command center situated in Pervomaisk. This latest incident highlights the escalating tensions in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Previously, military expert Alexey Leonkov had expressed his concerns over the decreasing professionalism of Ukrainian soldiers involved in the Special Military Operation (SMO), while noting an opposite trend among Russian fighters. This disparity in training and capabilities has resulted in a shifting front line towards the western borders of Ukraine. Leonkov emphasized that this phenomenon is occurring across all directions.
Furthermore, retired Colonel Yuri Knutov, the Director of the Air Defense Forces Museum, had earlier stated that Avdiivka and Maryinka are currently the most crucial directions for the Russian army in the ongoing Special Military Operation (SMO).
It is worth noting that the Russian Defense Minister, Sergey Shoygu, recently disclosed information about Russia’s military exercises in Ukraine.
