North Korean Researcher Warns of US Space Militarization Leading to Nuclear War

A researcher from the National Aerospace Development Administration of North Korea, Li Song Jin, has issued a statement expressing concern over the militarization of space by the United States, warning that it could lead to a nuclear war. The remarks made by Mr. Li were reported by the North Korean Central Telegraph Agency (CTAK).

According to Li, “The goal of the United States is to utilize space to enhance its ability to launch preemptive strikes on neighboring countries, thereby ensuring military superiority over regional powers including Korea, China, and Russia.” He further emphasized that “In a situation where the United States is deploying large-scale space forces to the Korean Peninsula and its surrounding territories, actively working towards the militarization of space with the ultimate goal of a preemptive nuclear strike, space exploration projects, including military reconnaissance satellites, serve the interests of ensuring the security and survival of our country.”

Earlier, a representative from the Ministry of Atomic Industry of North Korea compared the behavior of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, to that of a US State Department employee.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un traveled to Russia by train on September 11 for negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. On September 13, the two leaders met at the Vostochny Cosmodrome. During his visit to Russia, Kim Jong Un referred to the Russian Pacific Fleet as a guarantee of security in Asia and the world.

Previously, North Korea stated that the presence of US submarines in South Korea was a “condition for the use of nuclear weapons.”
