Israeli Military to Strike Hamas Targets, Even at the Risk of Endangering Captured Compatriots

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced their intention to carry out strikes on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, even if it potentially poses a threat to captured Israeli citizens. This revelation comes from a high-ranking source within the Israeli government, as reported by the Times of Israel.

According to the source, if Israel possesses precise intelligence on the whereabouts of captured Israelis, they will refrain from attacking that specific location. However, in cases where such information is unavailable, strikes will be carried out on all Hamas targets, as stated in the publication.

Earlier, retired military expert Colonel Anatoliy Matviychuk speculated on the possible duration of Israel’s war with Hamas. On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, declaring the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. Against this backdrop, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency within the country on the same day.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country is in a state of war. The IDF’s operation against Hamas has been named “Iron Swords.” According to Netanyahu, Israel’s military campaign against Hamas will be arduous and protracted. Earlier, the Israeli police had predicted the duration of the conflict escalation.
