Teen Driver Causes Three-Car Collision in Utah, Leaving Three Hospitalized

Three people were hospitalized in Utah with serious, non-life-threatening injuries after a teen driver drifted into oncoming traffic and struck two cars head-on, authorities say. The incident occurred on the Cory Wride Memorial Highway in Eagle Mountain on Saturday evening.

According to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, the 17-year-old boy was driving westbound when he veered over the center median and crashed into an eastbound vehicle. The entire accident was captured on dashcam footage, with the first car being struck by the teen’s vehicle before it rolled over and spun around a second car.

The video also shows the teen’s car skidding in front of a third vehicle, which was recording the incident on its dashcam. Eventually, the teen’s car collided with this third vehicle as well. The dashcam video ends with the image of a shattered windshield.

First responders quickly arrived at the scene to assist the victims. Three individuals were taken to the hospital with serious injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Further details about their conditions are currently unavailable.

The Cory Wride Memorial Highway was temporarily closed following the collision but appeared to have reopened by 7:30 p.m. the same day. The cause of the teen driver drifting into oncoming traffic is still unknown.

This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of distracted or reckless driving, emphasizing the importance of staying focused and attentive behind the wheel.
