Florida Man Arrested for Planning Mass Shootings and Stabbing Spree

A Florida man’s chilling plans to carry out mass shootings and a stabbing spree were foiled after a routine traffic stop by a Jupiter police officer. Henry Horton IV, 19, was charged with making written threats to kill after handwritten notes detailing his morbid plans were discovered in his vehicle.

The officer found multiple pages outlining Horton’s intention to purchase firearms and “kill everyone at Okeechobee High School.” Horton, who had graduated from the school the previous year, confessed to planning the murder of an administrator and an additional 14 people at the high school on his 22nd birthday in 2026. Afterward, he intended to drive to Miami and carry out a stabbing spree at a church called ‘El Rey Jesus,’ targeting 10 more victims.

Horton revealed that he had been having thoughts about mass homicide for some time and had previously sought mental health evaluation in Virginia. When questioned about his motive, he expressed a dislike for religion and a desire to attack random people. He also mentioned wanting to seek revenge on his stepmother for kicking him out of the house.

During the traffic stop, the officer found a bong and three filet-style knives in Horton’s vehicle. Horton admitted to having a manifesto inside his car, which detailed his plans to carry out mass killings at Okeechobee High School and a church in Parkland, Florida. He also mentioned plans to purchase firearms from an unknown source.

Authorities charged Horton with possession of drug paraphernalia and transported him to a nearby hospital for a mental health evaluation. During an interview with a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy, Horton admitted to his plans and expressed a desire to mass murder 50 people in a single event. He had detailed plans for attacks at Walmart, Okeechobee High School, and a church in Charlotte, North Carolina, followed by targeting his father and stepmother. Horton’s notes also mentioned a desire to kill people at the United Nations Building in New York.

Based on his statements, Horton was arrested and charged with written threats to kill or do harm. It is unclear if he had access to firearms at the time of his arrest.

This disturbing incident highlights the importance of routine traffic stops and the vigilance of law enforcement in preventing potential acts of violence. Authorities are continuing to investigate Horton’s plans and are taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of the community.
