Israel Considers Ground Operation in Gaza as Tensions Escalate

The Israeli Ambassador to Russia, Alexander Ben Zvi, has stated that a ground operation by Israel in the Gaza Strip is a possibility. According to TASS, this comes after Vladimir Dzhabarov, the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council’s Committee on International Affairs, claimed that the United States is to blame for the conflict between Israel and Hamas. Dzhabarov also noted that events in the Middle East could have a negative impact on military assistance to Ukraine. He stated that due to high levels of corruption in the country, weapons sent to Kiev end up in the hands of international terrorists.

On October 7th, Hamas forces launched several thousand rockets towards Israeli territory and declared the start of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. In response, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency in the country. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the nation is now in a state of war. The Israeli Defense Forces’ operation against Hamas has been named “Iron Swords.”

Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that suspects had infiltrated Israel from Lebanese territory.
