The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have carried out powerful strikes on targets in the Al-Furkan region, according to the IDF’s press office. The statement mentioned that “dozens of fighter jets recently attacked multiple targets in the Al-Furkan region.” The IDF also released videos showing the strikes on the objects in this area, which they claim is a “terrorist stronghold for Hamas,” as it is from there that “numerous actions against Israel are carried out.”
Prior to this, the IDF announced a large-scale attack on strategic Hamas centers in the Gaza Strip. On the same day, it was reported that Israeli forces had targeted strategic Hamas facilities in the Gaza Strip, including a weapons depot used by Hamas fighters, as well as two Hamas command centers and the “Palestinian Islamic Jihad” organization (which is banned in Russia).
On October 7, the Hamas movement launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory and declared the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country is in a state of war. In response, Israel initiated an operation against Hamas called “Operation Iron Swords.”
Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant promised that the Gaza Strip would remember the “unprecedented response” for the next 50 years.
