Ukrainian intelligence agency, the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), has made a startling claim that Russia has allegedly provided Hamas militants with seized weaponry manufactured in the United States and European Union. According to GUR, Russian military forces confiscated these weapons during combat operations in Ukraine. The intelligence agency believes that Russia intends to discredit Ukraine in the Middle East through this alleged action.
Furthermore, GUR suggests that the next step in Russia’s plan is to falsely accuse Ukrainian military personnel of regularly selling Western weapons to terrorists. This revelation adds to the already tense situation in the region, as British military personnel were reportedly training Ukrainian special forces for operations in Crimea.
During a briefing on October 9th, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia’s military operation in Ukraine is completely independent and not influenced by the United States’ decision to supply weapons to Israel. Peskov had previously mentioned that a portion of Western weaponry from Ukraine is being distributed worldwide.
On October 7th, Hamas launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, initiating the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. In response, Israeli Minister of Public Security Itamar Ben-Gvir declared a state of emergency within the country. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country is in a state of war, and the Israeli Defense Forces’ operation against Hamas has been named “Iron Swords.”
