The military wing of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, known as the Al-Qassam Brigades, has launched rockets towards Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. This information was reported in a statement released by the movement on their Telegram channel. The statement claims that the Al-Qassam Brigades responded to the bombing of civilian homes by launching a rocket barrage towards Tel Aviv.
Reports from the media indicate that explosions can already be heard in Jerusalem. Hamas also claims to have launched 120 rockets towards the Israeli cities of Ashdod and Ashkelon. On October 7th, the Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets towards Israeli territory and announced the beginning of the operation called “Flood of Al-Aqsa.” In response, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency in the country.
Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, declared that the country is in a state of war. The Israel Defense Forces’ operation against Hamas has been named “Operation Iron Swords.” Earlier, the Israeli police predicted the duration of the conflict escalation.
