Hamas Launches Rocket Attack Towards Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv

Hamas, the military wing known as the “Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades,” has claimed responsibility for a rocket barrage targeting Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. This announcement was made by the Palestinian radicals on their Telegram channel, as reported by TASS. The statement from the al-Qassam Brigades emphasized that the attack was in response to ongoing “crimes and shelling of civilian homes.” They further specified that they fired 100 rockets towards the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon.

According to information from the Telegram channel, Mash, hundreds of people attempted to evacuate from Ben-Gurion Airport on October 8th, causing a stampede. The extent of any injuries is currently being verified. Prior to this incident, the Israeli army had announced that sirens warning of rocket attacks had been activated in the central and southern parts of the country.

On October 7th, the forces of Hamas launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, declaring the start of their operation called “Flood of Al-Aqsa.” In response, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency in the country. Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, had previously stated that the nation was in a state of war.

This recent escalation of violence highlights the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, with both sides engaging in attacks and retaliations. The situation remains tense, with the international community closely monitoring developments and calling for an immediate de-escalation of hostilities.
