Over 100 Israeli Citizens, including High-ranking Military Officers, Held Captive by Hamas in Gaza

In a recent interview with Al-Ghad TV, Musa Abu-Marzook, a member of Hamas’ Politburo, revealed that more than 100 Israeli citizens, including high-ranking military officers, have been taken hostage and are currently being held in the Gaza Strip. When asked about the number of Israeli prisoners, Abu-Marzook responded, “More than a hundred. Among them are high-ranking officers.”

This comes after the Israeli Embassy in the United States reported that Hamas militants had abducted 100 Israelis on October 7th. In response, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, initiating what they called “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.” As a result, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency within the country on the same day.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the nation is now in a state of war, and the Israeli Defense Forces’ operation against Hamas has been named “Operation Iron Swords.” Netanyahu had previously vowed to eliminate Hamas, and this recent escalation further raises tensions in the region.

The situation in Gaza remains tense, with Hamas holding a significant number of Israeli citizens captive, including high-ranking military personnel. The international community is closely monitoring the developments and urging both sides to exercise restraint to prevent further escalation of the conflict.
