In a recent development, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that they are carrying out strikes on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. This information was shared through the IDF’s Telegram channel. The publication stated, “Currently, the IDF is striking targets belonging to the terrorist organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip.”
Prior to this, Israel’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, sent a letter to the UN Security Council, holding Hamas responsible for the escalation of tensions in the Gaza Strip. He called on the UN to condemn Hamas’ actions and emphasized that Israel would take all necessary measures to protect itself and its sovereignty.
On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets towards Israeli territory, declaring the beginning of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. In response, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency within the country. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu also announced that the country is in a state of war. The Israeli Defense Forces’ operation against Hamas has been named “Operation Iron Swords.” In retaliation for the attacks, the Israeli Air Force targeted 21 Hamas facilities in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, the Israeli police predicted the duration of the conflict escalation.
