Hamas Launches 150 Rockets on Tel Aviv in Response to Israeli Attacks

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has announced the launch of 150 rockets on Tel Aviv in response to the shelling of residential buildings in the Gaza Strip. The announcement was made through the movement’s Telegram channel.

According to Hamas, “In response to the destruction of a residential tower in the center of Gaza City, Al-Qassam Brigades are now launching a major rocket strike on Tel Aviv.”

The Al-Qassam Brigades is the military wing of Hamas, which was established in 1992 under the leadership of Yahya Ayyash as a combat organization of the Hamas movement. At the time of its creation, the organization aimed to hinder any peaceful negotiations with Israel through terrorist methods, and later to prevent the implementation of the Oslo Accords.

Prior to this, a residential building in the Gaza Strip collapsed after Israeli attacks. On October 7, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory. In response, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency in the country.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country is in a state of war. The Israel Defense Forces’ operation against Hamas has been named “Operation Iron Swords.” In response to the Israeli airstrikes, Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip were struck by the Israeli Air Force.

Earlier, the Israeli police predicted the duration of the escalation of the conflict.
