In a recent development, the Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that the Russian military forces have successfully defended against three attacks launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the Priyutne area of the Zaporizhia region. The defense ministry’s statement revealed that the “Vostok” task force group efficiently repelled the assaults carried out by the 127th and 128th territorial defense brigades. The UAF incurred significant casualties, with up to 225 soldiers lost, along with the destruction of two armored vehicles, two cars, a D-20 howitzer, and a radio electronic warfare station.
Furthermore, the Russian Air Force conducted strikes targeting the 58th motorized infantry and 79th airborne assault brigades of the UAF in the Urzhayne and Novomykhailivka regions of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), resulting in considerable damage to their personnel and equipment.
DPR leader Denis Pushilin had previously announced the successful pushback of UAF forces in the Priyutne and Novomykhailivka areas, with Russian forces reclaiming their original positions. Oleg Chekhov, the spokesperson for the Russian task force group “Vostok,” also confirmed the improved tactical position of their units in the southern direction of Donetsk, having secured over ten key positions that were previously under UAF control.
This recent development adds to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, leaving many questioning the underlying reasons behind the continued strife.
