Israeli Air Force Strikes Hamas Targets in Gaza; Israeli Army Launches Operation Iron Swords

Dozens of Israeli fighter jets have launched strikes on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, according to reports from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) press office, as cited by TASS. Additionally, the Israeli army has announced the beginning of Operation “Iron Swords” in Gaza. Earlier, Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, called for a mass mobilization of reservists in response to rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip and the infiltration of terrorists into Israeli territory. This information was reported by the country’s defense ministry press office.

On the same day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) declared a state of war readiness. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu traveled to the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Tel Aviv to hold a meeting with the command of the military bloc. Air raid sirens began sounding early in the morning on October 7th in southern Israel, near the border with the Gaza Strip, as well as in the Tel Aviv area.

According to the army’s press office, dozens of rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli cities. Medics have confirmed that an elderly woman was injured in southern Israel as a result of a rocket strike.
